The short answer
Flooring and tile installation covers the removal of existing floor coverings, correction of the subfloor, and installation of hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank, porcelain or ceramic tile, and natural stone. In the GTA in 2026, supplied-and-installed pricing runs roughly $6 to $10 per square foot for luxury vinyl plank, $9 to $16 for engineered and solid hardwood, and $12 to $22 for porcelain and natural stone tile. Global Construction Homes levels the substrate first, because a flat floor is the only reason a floor stays quiet and crack-free.
Nearly every flooring complaint traces back to what was underneath, not what was on top. Hollow tile, cupped hardwood, telegraphed seams and cracked grout lines are subfloor failures wearing a finish-material costume.
So we start with the substrate. We check deflection, moisture content and flatness against the manufacturer's tolerance — usually 3 mm over 3 m — then correct it with self-levelling compound, plywood underlayment or uncoupling membrane before a single plank or tile is set.
Then we lay out the room before we commit. Tile is dry-set to place the cuts where the eye does not land, hardwood direction is chosen against the joists and the main light source, and transitions between rooms are planned so doorways read as one continuous surface instead of a seam.

Hardwood & engineered wood
Solid and engineered installation — nail-down, glue-down or floating — with acclimatisation, expansion gaps sized to the room, and moisture testing before a plank goes down.
Porcelain, ceramic & large-format tile
Full-coverage thin-set with back-buttering on large format, uncoupling membrane over concrete and wood, levelling clips for lippage control, and sealed grout joints.
Luxury vinyl plank & tile
Rigid-core and SPC systems over a fully levelled substrate — the format that survives basements, entryways and homes with dogs and kids.
Natural stone
Marble, granite, travertine and slate set with white thin-set, honed and sealed properly, with movement joints where the manufacturer requires them.
Heated floor systems
Electric in-floor mats and cable under tile and stone, thermostat wiring coordination, and continuity testing before, during and after the pour.
Backsplashes, showers & stair treads
Kitchen backsplashes, fully waterproofed shower walls and niches, and stair rebuilds with matching hardwood treads, risers and nosing.
Supplied and installed, including removal of the existing floor, standard substrate prep, materials and HST. Heavy levelling or asbestos-era tile abatement is quoted separately.
Subfloor levelling beyond 10 mm, plywood underlayment and stair work are quoted per project. Material upgrades are passed through at cost with no markup on your allowance.
